The Story

Quintessence… A Spiritual Adventure! is a story about a day in the life of three BFF teenage girls from Highland Park, Michigan—one Black, one White, and one Latina—whose lives are forever changed. What begins as celebration quickly gives way to reflection, struggle, and emotional pain familiar to us all. In their vulnerability, the girls discover something powerful: the quiet strength found in prayer, meditation, and stillness.

While sleeping, they are carried into a realm beyond time and matter—

Quintessence (kwin-TES-ence)—the fifth element, existing above Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. It is the ethereal place where spirit speaks clearly and truth reveals itself without fear.

While in Quintessence, the girls encounter unforgettable beings who embody the forces that shape every human life: the Soul and its manifestations, thought, talent and creativity, fun, evil, the physical body and the eternal spirit. These characters are symbolic, yet deeply personal. They are universal reflections of the inner self, gifts, and choices that define us all.

At its heart, this novel is a teaching ministry told through story. God’s Word is carefully and respectfully woven throughout the narrative—not as doctrine, but as living wisdom—offering guidance, hope, and understanding while remaining imaginative, entertaining, and full of heart.
